Ashante I feel the same. I am also 13 and love to write, i actually am editing a first book!

I read alot of good books and then sometimes i fell like i could never write something like that.

Or when i read a book or someone else's work i find i cant concentrate on the book because i am constantly comparing! But if you love to write like i do, dont worry about what others think and always keep writing!!

GO YOUNG WRITERS!!

Teri Thanks for this information. This is a great forum.

B&B in Stratford-Upon-Avon
Jordan Does anyone know how I can translate this forum into my language? I am having trouble readin it.

The B&B in Stratford-Upon-Avon
that.shy.teen.novelist That's really great for you Nick. I am thirteen too, and I'm in the same boat. For me, it's hard to concentrate on the writing of the book. I have ideas pouring out of my ears, but I lack the motivation to get down writing it. I have just started writing my novel (hope I can stick to it this time)! I, like you, want to hit a broad audience. Lots of writers do.

On a different note, I really like the Magyk series!
Nicolas I am very passionate about my writing. But I often feel critical of it and think its no good. I have no way of getting it reviewed either because my family doesnt understand how much it means to me. They couldnt help. I read alot of books by a vast amount of authors. But usually when i read books for young adults like myself, i often think 'Why am I reading this?'. And thats quite strange because i am a writer who loves to write, but, i dont really like reading other peoples books. And this is because most books out there just dont "call" to me. I have read other books which i could not have gotten enough of. I wouldnt be able to put the book down for hours because of how it captured you in the story. There were no dull parts. Everything just built on top of the last. Its interest and action and story just kept on climbing upwards to an explosive climax. I want my book to be like that. I dont want readers to think what I think while im reading most books. 'Why am i reading this?' I can name a few books that i thought were amazing right of the back. For example, House of the Scorpion and the Magyk series. With my book i want to attract kids who dont read much or even at all in their free time with a book that they cant steer away from. I am a teen myself and i do play alot of video games (you have to admit they are really fun! ) which allows me to add interesting elements that i find in video games and stir them in with my writing. By doing this i want to attract an audience of colors. People who love to read, people who read but not often, and kids who never read. I know for a fact that if my books gets published i can change kids for the better. Well, bring them to be intersted in writing and reading at least!

*I am only 13 years old but dont underestimate me! I have a passion for writing that can not be stopped. When i start writing the magic just flows from me and on to the paper (unless i get writers block). People constantly think that just because i am young i can not achieve my dream of becoming a writer. Well, all of you who doubt me i will prove you al wrong. Wait till 2009 comes around. You will all now my name well!

P.S. If you are just like me and have a dream of writing but people think that you are to young to achieve that then e-mail me at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
