Stu returned to searching for chaos once he put Prosperity to bed. She was hammered drunk but after the whole Miracle incident he couldn’t blame her. He stormed out because if he didn’t he’d have killed Miracle, or he’d have tried. When she gave him a new world, it’d upset him deeply. Mostly because it was better than anything he’d ever experienced. It was so perfect It made him panic. Then she threatened the girls, he lost control. Something was changing inside of him, again he faced the question, am I the bad guy?
He walked around town a few hours before a bridge he was crossing gave him a feeling. It was familiar, his blood said she was nearby. He peaked over the railing, and she sat on a support hanging over the edge. Stu said, “Hello God.”
She said, “It’s alright. You don’t have to say anything about today.”
He climbed down and sitting next to her, he asked, “Alright, would you like to say something about today and I’ll listen to you?”
Chaos looked out over the river as it emptied into the ocean. The stars shimmered, and the moon was almost new. Kicking her feet in the air she shyly asked, “Why did you get Prosperity before me?”
Stu was surprised saying, “I didn’t know you were aware of that. Well, if I’m being honest, I need to know what you are really asking me. Are you asking whether I like her more than you, or do you think I don’t care about you? Those are very different questions from what you are asking right now.”
She sat silently. “I’m your god, you have to care. Never mind, it was a stupid question.”
Stu said, “Sounds like my kind of question, I mean, Stu is short for Stupid.”
Chaos gave a shy smile, looking at him. He smiled back, she asked, “If I wasn’t your god, would you spend so much time with me?”
Stu said, “If you weren’t my god and I spent this much time with you I’d be in jail for sure.”
She looked away saying, “Oh.. Okay.. I just thought.. maybe, we could… oh, uh look at the time we should go home. Don’t you think?”
Stu looked at her, he thought, one way or another this was going to be the end of a normal life for him. Why did he keep fighting it? He said, “I’d like to spend some more time with you right here. If that’s alright with you Chaos.”
She looked back at him and asked, “Do you have feelings for Prosperity?”
He sighed, “Complicated feelings, yes. She is a complicated God, and I don’t know. I’d be lying if I didn’t say that she feels like she belongs in the house. She is a good person though, or that’s what I believe.”
Chaos looked sad, she said, “That’s what I thought, as long as your happy that’s all that matters to me.” A tear fell from her cheek and continued spiraling in the wind for hundreds of feet as the wind carried it.

Stu’s heart was breaking watching Chaos for some reason. He hadn’t said he was in love with her; he wasn’t sure he was willing to date a god.. If it was Chaos maybe.. He stopped staring down and took a good look at her. She sat watching her feet swinging, the constant wind blowing her green hair, her pale skin silhouetted against the starry sky. She was beautiful, she was so amazing that the more he stared, the more he saw. He was seeing her for more than an immature god, he saw a visage of beauty representing the entropy of the soul, no.. this was the image of the entropy of Chaos; she really was a god.
She looked at him seeing him staring like it was the first time he’d ever seen her. She thought something must be wrong. “Are you alright Stu? Is something wrong?”
Stu said, “I want to tell you how I feel about you now.”
She sadly looked down saying, “Don’t worry about it. This was a mistake to discuss; we work together basically. It’s my fault for making things weird.”
Stu said, “I think I’m falling for you. Honestly, that terrifies me. When Miracle showed up today I thought she’d hurt both of you. Especially you.. I lost control, I doubt I’d have even hurt her based on what I’ve heard. I’d have tried though, and I’d have done exactly what I said. Maybe more if she actually hurt one of you. Something is happening, I’m more protective over you, and it must be my feelings are getting deeper. This is all pretty chaotic though, and hard to pin down honestly.” Looking at his hand the wound from earlier was gone. “A lot has changed for me in a very short time, and I’m not sure what I can offer anyone except for the moment we’re in right now. The next one isn’t guaranteed for us. I’m scared to let the only two people in my life down. You are one of those people, even if you’re my god too. What I’m trying to say Chaos is that I like you a lot. You have made my life a living hell, and I love walking through the embers with you.. Maybe we can get to know each other a little better if we get the time..”
Looking up from his bashful and terrible attempt at telling her how he felt, she was facing away on the support avoiding eye contact. She didn’t say anything for a few minutes, finally turning and the tears were flowing down her face. She was so pretty when she cried, he thought. She said, “The day we met, the day I told you to save yourself… you picked me up and carried me at great expense, with no idea I was trying to die. You protected me at all costs, then you stood by me every step of the way. I knew the first day we met, I wanted to be with you.”
Stu froze; did she just say that? His heart was beating harder than it did when he fought. His palms were sweaty, and he overheated. He looked into her eyes seeing the color and shape, they looked like star fields in pink hues. He slid closer to her on the support, she took his hand. He continued looking deep into her eyes and they inched closer. Their faces inches apart and the sound of groaning metal caught their ears; they didn’t break their focus though. Chaos still inching towards him softly said, “I think we’re going to fall if we stay here.”
Stu still inching towards her said, “That’d be an epic first kiss.” The support groaned again, and they fell. The support beam was giving under the power of Chaos. Stu pulled her close to him as they tumbled from the bridge, he pressed his lips to hers and she kissed him back. Falling almost 200 feet kissing the whole way down, the wind rushing past as they penetrated the water still embracing and finally letting go and swimming to the surface.
Getting to the bank they pulled themselves onto the beach laughing. She asked, “Are you okay?!?”
Stu smiled and said, “I’m fine, probably just a broken rib or two. Best first kiss! Wooh!” He yelled; both hands raised in victory.
Chaos looked at him smiling, that was something a god hadn’t ever done before so it was worth shouting about. She raised her fists and yelled, “Best first kiss ever, Wooh!!” they laughed together, lying on the bank and letting the adrenalin wear off before they went home.
