BOOK ONE COMPLETE!!!

  I am proud to announce the completion of Book 1.

  Here is a recap of events:

  When Joey, the System Clerk of the Gods, learned his department would be downsized, he made several foolish decisions and broke the sacred rule of his employers. Using his access, he spread false system notifications and sowed chaos on the world of Grimgard. Breaking a long-standing alliance between three dark realms. Fearing repercussions, he fled the company with his trusty feline companion, Jeremy, and an AI he named Jenny.

  Fleeing to the very world he once managed, the grimdark world of Grimgard. There he set about developing his own system integration. Developing bespoke attributes and skills, utilising the system features of his companion AI. Upon testing his powers in a nearby forest, an accident caused it to be set alight with fire. Fleeing another mistake, he tried his luck in an ancient temple.

  There he encountered strange hybrid races and monsters, getting lost in the magic shifting doors of the temple. Fighting his way through the creatures that dwelled within, he developed his powers. Coming up with new skills and weapons. Eventually, he met his first companion, an esoteric Necrochanter without a heartbeat, Marius. Quickly becoming friends with the revenant, they continued exploring the temple for an escape. Reaching an underground arena where gladiators fight for a vampire overlords entertainment.

  Joey intervened because he could not stand by while the arena was going to execute a prisoner. Making new friends of the prisoner and one gladiator. Xynthia, the last surviving Quester who ventured in for exploration and gold; Rakshur, a systemless Garathi warrior in service to a cruel lord. Joining hands, the group sought escape while many revelations occurred. Jeremy, the forever faithful cat, was in truth a voidspawn. Who entered reality during Joey's antics on the home office balcony overlooking the void.

  The group fled the arena and schemed to overthrow the vampire lord, inciting a coup amongst his soldiers. Leading to a climactic battle on the sands of the arena. Because of a betrayal of the vampire lord Calverus desired consort, the lady Griselda of Strigoi. The companions triumphed over the powerful and higher levelled vampire. Once defeated, Joey declared he would study the vampires' blood, hoping to claim his lost immortality, recently discovered to be a boon from the gods that spurned him.

  At the home office, the downsizing had begun, as well as the retirement of his fellow clerks. One such group composed of Sammy, Greg, Peter and Jane, old friends and acquaintances of the rogue Joey. Chose to give up their bodies and become something new, to retire on Grimgard and seek their own adventure.
