Mr. Hudson

The haze of blankness passes. Mr. Hudson finds himself taped in a chair. Painters plastic lays below him. His apartment is unusually clean.

Woman: “I hope you don’t mind, I did some cleaning around the place.” Mr. Hudson tries to get a look at her: blind-spot. He tries to speak.

Mr. Hudson: “Mrrffrrrwrrr.” A rag is in his mouth.

Woman: “No reason to get yourself horny.” She steps into view. Tall and lean.

  ...A long pause...

  “Mr. Hudson?”

  Mr. Hudson: “Mrrbrrfuu!”

Woman: “Just nod.” He nods. Her voice changes. “You know why I’m here.” He nods. “You know what I came for.” He nods. “You’ve seen the bodies.” He nods vigorously. Her face brightens. “Then this should go smoothly.”

A lonely tear slides down his cheek. He had seen the bodies. He knew what she did.
