When was the last time you took a minute to care about yourself?” I asked with a sympathetic look. “Haaa your right kid. It’s been difficult lately with the other leaders finally having success. It makes it harder and harder to stand out” Proton said having a sip of his coffee. “Especially with the work being done in Celadon right?” I asked. “That idiot is making us all look bad. The new headquarters there aren’t even that impressive. Why does the boss make such a big deal about them?” Proton said staring at his honey roll. I reached across the table and put my hand on his, “your boss doesn’t appreciate all the other things that go into making Team Rocket work” I said trying to ease Proton’s anxiety.

  On the other side of the one way glass, Jenny and her Mom sat there with their mouths hanging open. “I have been trying to get that green haired idiot to talk all day… Your boyfriend shows up with hot coffee and dessert and gets information about Rocket’s hideout in 3 minutes. This has to be a new record!” Jenny’s Mom said shaking her head in shock. “I told you Mom, Austin does things differently but it works!” Jenny said nodding with approval. “Austin said this style was used by someone famous where he comes from. It is about using conversation, mutual respect, and true friendliness to get people to confess without even realizing they have” Jenny said reading the notes Austin had given her. “Well, I guess we let him keep going until this idiot runs out of things to talk about” Jenny’s Mom said shrugging her shoulders.

  “Why doesn’t your boss help you guys get better Pokémon? I mean, Pokémon are just tools right? You need better tools to have better chances of success” I said passing another honey roll over to Proton. “I hate these stupid Koffing and Weezing! They just make huge messes and half the time they use Smog and Sludge they end up hurting us!” Proton said getting angry. “That’s ridiculous! Your Boss should know that! You are smart enough to notice, so someone like your Boss should already know that too!” I said getting angry with Proton. “Boss said we might get new Pokémon soon though. He said something about the Safari Zone. Knowing the Boss though, he will just keep all the good ones for himself” Proton said leaning back and looking at the ceiling. “You should try to be in charge of that one so you can get yourself a good one! You deserve it!” I said slapping the table. “You’re right kid! I’m a good leader too! I deserve the best tools for the job!” Proton said standing up excitedly. “You should try to get yourself on the Cinnabar Island team too! You could make a lot of progress on that Mew research I bet!” I said excitedly in response. “Yeah I should! Wait, kid how do you know about that?” Proton said calming down and looking at me. “Okay, well I think that wraps everything I had for now. Do you want some more coffee or sweets before I step out?” I asked nicely. “Yeah, can I have a fresh coffee and dessert please? I really like these honey rolls” Proton said handing his coffee over. “Sure thing bud” I said filling up his coffee and giving him a new roll.

Your technique would take out forces and interrogation skills to the next level!” Jenny’s Mom said shaking my hand and patting my shoulder. “Mom, Austin needs a break. I’m sure it was hard to put up with all of that and keeping the fake emotions going” Jenny said trying to pull me away. “Jenny, you don’t realize it but Austin just uncovered three Team Rocket secrets in about 10 minutes from one of their highest leaders using no torture, no threats, and no punishment…” Jenny’s Mom said trying to hold on to my shoulder. “I have to call my boss and immediately tell her about Austin. Have Austin come in the conference room when he is done recovering. I will need him to help fill us in on Team Rocket’s plots” Jenny’s Mom said while heading into the conference room finally.

  “Sorry about her Austin. Even I have to admit though, that was one of the most interesting yet rewarding interrogations I have ever seen” Jenny said giving me a tight squeeze. “Thanks, it was a technique devised by a man during World War II in my world. He had one of the highest success rates, but it usually took a lot more time than that one just did” I said snuggling further into Jenny’s embrace. “World War II? Is that a movie or something?” Jenny asked. “Nope, we all wish it was, but it definitely was a war that encompassed every major power in my world. They fought to save the world from madmen who had seized power and were committing atrocities on a never before seen scale” I responded grimly. At hearing that, Jenny pulled away a little and looked up at me with a frown on her face. “Do you think something awful like that could happen here?” Jenny asked still looking me in the eye. “I sure hope not, but I know I would fight to stop it from ever getting to that point with every fiber of my being” I said sternly. “Your world is so different sometimes from this world” Jenny said putting her head into my chest again. “Should we head into the conference room?” I asked while stroking her back. “Ugggggh two more minutes please” Jenny said with a groan.

My future son-in-law just got a Team Rocket Executive to sing like a songbird!” Jenny’s Mom bragged on the conference room video call. “Mom….. we just started dating, we aren’t engaged yet!” Jenny said with her teeth clenched. “If you don’t marry that man, I’ll make your sister do it!” Jenny’s Mom said with a smirk. “He’s mine! You can’t take him away!” Jenny said grabbing my arm tightly. “Please stop trying to embarrass her” I asked gently. “Fine fine, so boss here’s what we learned!” Jenny’s Mom said grabbing her note pad. She then went on to explain all the plots I uncovered and any additional information she had about when they were set to unfold. Finally, after Jenny’s Mom finished listing everything out, her boss finally spoke, “I have to talk to Lance and the rest of the Elite 4 straight away. Next we need to schedule a meeting with the International folks to get their top agents involved. All three of you are already heroes in my book, but now it’s up to us to put a stop to this” the Police Chief said. “Also, my dear niece, come bring your cute boyfriend to headquarters so he can share his interrogation methods with the rest of us” the Police Chief said raising her cap revealing her face to look identical to Jenny’s Mom and then gave a wink. “Aunt Jenny, not you too please” Jenny said covering her face with her hands. “Heh see even your Aunt likes him already!” Jenny’s Mom said slapping the table while laughing. After exchanging some pleasantries and additional information, we were dismissed and finally could focus on having dinner.

  I went ahead and prepped all the Pokémon food and gave everyone what they needed. “Okay, so I would like to introduce our new friend to you two. Please welcome the super tough, the incredibly strong, and most beautiful bug there is MRS. MANDIBLE!!!!!” I said giving her the best hero introduction I could think of. “PINS PINS” Mrs. Mandible said and smashed her mandibles together proudly while striking a pose. Both Jenny and her Mom clapped and whistled with big smiles on their faces. Mrs. Mandible looked like she was blushing from all the attention, well at least as much as a bug can. “Welcome to the group Mrs. Mandible, my name is Jenny and I am Austin’s girlfriend. I hope we can be friends too!” Jenny said introducing herself. “These are my Pokémon, please be there friend!” Jenny said pointing to Spitz and Queeny. “Nice to meet another strong woman, look forward to working with you. These are my partners” Jenny’s Mom said with her arms crossed nudging her head towards her trio.

  Everyone ended up eating together and having a good time playing outside with Tremor after. “So I know what Pokémon I want to get first” Jenny said holding my arm watching all the Pokémon play. “Really?!?!? You finally ready to make your dream a reality?” I asked in shock. “Yes, but please don’t be upset that it’s not one of the ones you recommended” Jenny said looking down. “I would never be upset about you doing what you want. You could always choose any Pokémon for your team” I said with a gentle smile on my face. “Okay, I want my first new team member to be an Electabuzz” Jenny said with a serious look on her face. “You ready to have your mind blown again” I said with a light giggle in my throat. “No no no no Electabuzz is already strong, there is no way it can evolve!” Jenny said defiantly. I cupped my hand and whispered in her ear. “MY LIFE IS A LIE” Jenny screamed to the heavens. I put my hands on my knees trying not to fall over laughing at the ridiculousness. “What’s wrong?!?” Jenny’s Mom asked as she ran over to us. “Electabuzz is a middle evolution that evolves from Elekid, and it can evolve into Electivire” Jenny said with a look of defeat. “Kid, you have to be making some of these up I feel” Jenny’s Mom said shaking her head.
