Akken has been doing good, as a guide for what little guidance he has been doing. Though little can be expected since he is a hybrid and young. The best that he has been doing is teaching Veln how to translate for the rest of the caravan, Akken not being allowed in with tribes would have been an actual problem if Veln couldn't learn more than his poor excuse of the language already.
It's a good thing he asked for so little to follow these fools around. At least he's making this trip not a total mess like it was. I don't care how much Ket was upset about my interference in hiring the hybrid. He should be grateful that I was helped even though I wouldn't have if it wasn't going to affect my record. My first ever job monitoring a caravan can't be a failure, that's a hole too difficult to crawl out of and I won't fail my family.
If only Akken wasn't a hybrid then he could fully replace Veln. The payment of a few clothes is a lot better than whatever Ket's paying the lying fool. Sure Akken could be dangerous but a Caravan failing because of an attack is a lot better than one failing from lack of trade. It also won't fall on me, I've already told Ket the risks before hiring him and it's not my job to provide protection he made the decision not to hire guards it will be on him if there are deaths.

Continuing on observing the caravan trading from the shadows, normally I would have to be able to sneak my way through those trading. But the shifters here have too good of sense even after using my magic they'll see through it at least a little. It wouldn't be good to have so many people looking around for me with nothing but a feeling that I might be there. Continuing to look at trade going on, Veln running around like a chicken with its head cut off going for one deal to another trying to make sure everyone understands what going on with what little he can translate.
Suddenly as I spend time looking over a log of the items that had reached their quota for today. Checking for any discrepancies to what I've seen with their trades and what they have left. When suddenly a loud growl of desperation shakes the trees and rattles everyone in the caravan and the shifters around. Out of the corner of my eye I see someone taking off towards the forest in a full sprint. Turning to see who it is, I notice it's Veln running with a desperate look on his face. Shrugging I go back to making sure the books are done right.
