Chapter 6: Cages

  Ughhhh

Grey struggled to open his eyes. His body felt heavy and he could barely move a finger without wanting to groan from the soreness. He slowly cracked one eye, even that took effort as his eyes seemed swollen shut.

He was in his new apartment bedroom and the sun looked to have already risen but it didn't seem to be too late in the morning. Swiveling his one eye, he noticed the clock on his dresser and the time, 7:15 am, meant that he wasn't late for class yet.

He sighed in relief and then tried to roll onto his back but couldn't as a very large and very warm arm was wrapped around his stomach like giant snakes. He realized he was being held from behind.

He frowned in confusion before the memories of what he had done last night came crashing into his foggy brain and completely woke him up. He stared down at the arm that was holding him hostage and then glanced over his shoulder at the gorgeous face of the man that lay sleeping beside him.

He was asleep but he knew that too much movement or noise would have a S rank Yang hunter alert very quickly so he calmed his breathing and then tried to focus his addled brain.

His ability would take care of this no problem. All he had to do was drain the Yang of his energy and he would probably sleep for the next half of day as his body tried to recoup its lost energy.

Grey smirked to himself, it was really convenient to be this OP since he wouldn't have to deal with the awkward morning afters of a one night stand. It would be even better if Talen got the hint and fucked off himself.

Grey focused his energy into his hand and then let it seep into the arm holding him and slither inside, coiling around all the energy inside-both clean and corrupted- covering and trapping in completely like a giant ball and then pulled it back to himself and completely out of the Yang. The body, attached to the arm, drooped completely as if deflated and Grey groaned as he dragged himself out from under it.

Panting, he sat up and looked at the Yang with his face completely slack and checked to make sure he was still breathing. When the chest rose and fell a few times heavily, Grey sighed and tried to get up from the bed, only to collapse in a heap on the floor, his legs completely gone weak and unable to hold him up.

He laughed and looked over at the still sleeping Yang.

He had to admit, that man fucked him good. Real good. It was so good his body was still tingling and his dick was already starting to twitch at the memories but he shook his head and forced himself to crawl towards the wall and drag himself up and to the bathroom to shower. He didn't have time to rub one out and he didn't want to be late to his lessons.

It seemed that the Yang, at least had a conscience, as he was actually clean when he woke up. Semen wasn't pouring from his hole and his stomach wasn't upset so he must have done a thorough job of cleaning his cum out.

Still Grey frowned, he would still have to shower again since he could still smell the Yang on his skin and didn't want to walk around smelling like another man on the first day of his class so he showered and got ready.

He pulled up his contact list and dialed Alice.

  -Sup homie

  "Hey. How's Liz?" Grey asked.

-She's good, I was able to bring her home last night. I'm on my way to you now. What's up?

"Ah nothing. I'll meet you downstairs in the lobby, you don't have to come up."

-Why would you come down alone? What is Talen doing?

Grey coughed and turned to look at the Yang completely down for the count then turned away and smiled.

"He's knocked out." Grey grabbed his bag and then placed the note he wrote and tapped it to the Yang's face.

-What? What does that mean... wait-

"I'm heading down now." Grey hung up before she could ask more, it wouldn't take a genius to figure out what he had done.

Grey gave the Yang one last look and smirked as he left the room and then headed down to the lobby to meet Alice who was already seen running towards the door of the building.

When he opened the door, "Did you poison him or something? Do I need to clean up a body?"

Alice, panting, looked at Grey with wild eyes and then looked him up and down, "Wait. No. You fucked him, didn't you?"

Grey smirked and shrugged, pushing her aside and walking towards the Association building not far from his own.

"Are you like a succubus? Did you steal all his energy and kill him while fucking him?"

Grey busted out laughing because that was technically exactly what he had done but she obviously didn't mean it seriously.

"Damn... do you like have a golden asshole?" She asked in all seriousness causing Grey to choke at the ridiculousness of her questions.

"What the fuck?" He looked around and smacked her back. "No, I'm just good at what I do." Grey said with his face bright red and Alice staring at him like he was some kind of mythical creature which also wasn't far from the truth.

"I'm serious. I have never, in my life, heard of a Yang that stayed sleeping because of sex. That's insane. Your asshole must be like kryptonite to Yangs. Wow, I'm so shocked and also so honored to know the golden asshole in person."

Grey wanted to glue her mouth shut but also couldn't stop the laugh that burst through which had them both gasping for air as they made their way into the lobby.

"I'm dying, I'm dying... stop, I can't laugh anymore my body is already sore from last night."

"I can't stop the tears and everything you say just sounds even funnier to me."

As the two were whispering and trying to stop laughing a tall and stunning woman with dark mahogany skin and long red hair approached. "Are you Yin Healer Grey?"

Her voice was soft yet carried a sharp edge that seems to cut the air and immediately grab your attention. Grey coughed and stood up tall and nodded, "Yes, that would be me."

"Grey, nice to meet you. I'm S rank Yin Healer Kaya. I will be your instructor for your lessons. Please follow me this way to the training room.

  "Yes."

Grey looked at Alice and she smiled, mouthing, She's good.

They followed her through the building and into the elevator that took them to the lower floors and into an extremely large and open concrete bunker like room.

"Why here?" Alice asked Kaya. Grey looked at them both confused and Kaya nodded in understanding.

"We usually have Yin Healer lessons in our classrooms upstairs but since you are a unique case, the branch heads believed it would be best to make sure none of your frequency accidentally leaked out as it would likely draw unwanted attention and a lot of problems. You are already being monitored by a lot of Yangs as they are extremely curious, we do not wish to exacerbate the situation more than necessary."

"Ah!" Alice nodded in agreement, "That's smart. This is good idea and better for us for your protection. Man, they really used their brains for this, huh?"

Kaya frowned and sighed, "You really should watch your words, Alice."

Alice shrugged and shook her head, "What's the point? Everyone knows me anyway."

Kaya just sighed again and looked at Grey with an exhausted face. "Shall we get started on your lesson?" Grey smiled and nodded taking off his bag and jacket and looked toward her.

"What would you like me to do?"

"Oh, great. I like your attitude. Alice, you can go guard the door outside. We will be here for about two hours and then we will have lunch. You and I will start from the beginning. It is a miracle you awakened at such an age but even your frequency is special so you and I will work on getting to understand your power. Let's get started, let's take a seat on the ground as this will take a lot of our energy."

Grey and Kaya sat on the ground face to face and Kaya held out her hand.

"Are you able to feel your Yin energy?"

Grey nodded, "Yes, and I am able to completely control it."

"Oh? Does that mean you are able to keep it from leaking out?"

"Yes, I have been able to touch Yangs without my energy coming out."

"Oh! That's wonderful! We will be able to move on to the different types of control then. The hardest part is feeling it and capping it so it doesn't come out even if the Yangs try to force it. This usually takes the longest time and can really delay other lessons that are needed. Not to say that capping isn't the most important, which it absolutely is, but us Yins are pushed into service almost immediately and there is so much information that you need to know that will protect you that most aren't able to learn until later, ending up into serious conditions before they even get to it. So I am very glad that you have been able to figure it out on your own. Do you mind if we put it to test, just so I can go ahead and sign off on it and move on?"

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

"Oh sure. Yes, that sounds good. How will you test it?"

"We'll use Alice since she is a higher rank, she can try to do a force healing which would make your energy react if you haven't properly learned to cap and block it off."

"Oh. Ok. Yea, let's do it."

"Fantastic! ALICE!" Kaya yelled loudly and Alice, opened the door peeking her head through the gap.

  "Your highness called me?"

Sigh, "Alice, let's do a force heal so that we can make sure Grey has properly learned to block his Yin energy against Yangs."

"Oh, he definitely has, just last night he fu-"

"Alice!" Grey yelled and quickly covered her mouth with his hand as she had crouched down beside him.

Kaya blinked and shook her head at them and then motioned with her hands to get going.

Grey coughed and moved his hand, glaring at the smiling Alice as she plopped down beside him and reached out her hands.

"Let's test how good you are at blocking, shall we?" She wiggled her fingers and made ghost sounds while Kaya covered her face and groaned.

"I'm sorry, Grey, please just ignore her."

  "I usually do."

  "Bestie... you traitor... sniffle"

Grey shook his head and placed his hand on top of Alice's.

"Shall I start?" She looked at Kaya and waited for her nod before, "Here I go."

Grey watched as Alice's energy moved from her stomach, up her arms, into her hands and then out and slowly wrap completely around Grey's hands. The energy curled and then continued to pour out and wrap around Grey as if searching for a place that it could break through his skin and reach his energy. But Grey had completely blocked the energy. It wasn't even difficult nor did he have to do anything to make it happen. He simply thought it, and it happened.

Alice frowned as she closed her eyes and attempted to focus harder, she was really good at energy control and even the most skilled Yangs and Yins had trouble against her if she tried but she could not find an opening anywhere. No matter where her energy roamed she could find no weakness and no flaw. He was completely blocked from her despite her being a higher rank.

She frowned deeper and then opened her eyes to look at Grey sitting in front of her with a look of indifference. "Are you really C-rank?" She asked in frustration. "You shouldn't be able to completely block me if I decided to break through your cap, but I can't even sense it, let alone break through it."

Grey flinched for a moment before smiling, "Don't be a sore loser."

Alice's mouth dropped open and Kaya chuckled. "I didn't lose, you're just weirdly good. Aren't you a vampire or something. You aren't human. I'm convinced. You're almost 40 with the face of someone half your age, you completely block me and you have a golden asshole... not human! I'm telling you! Just tell me your secret! We're besties! Besties share secrets!"

Kaya nearly lost her composure and yelled at Alice, "Alice! That is enough of your nonsense! Don't be so crude! Go on, you crazy girl! Out with you! Goodness, me, I am so sorry Grey. She usually isn't so vulgar. Do forgive her. She doesn't mean any harm."

"No worries, I'm used to her."

Alice threw herself on top of Grey and grinned widely at Kaya, "We're besties and he loves me."

Grey just twisted and let Alice fall to the ground and smiled at Kaya, "As I said, I'm used to her nonsense. So don't worry. I wasn't offended."

Kaya nodded in relief and shooed Alice away once again. Alice sniffled and moaned about being abandoned by her bestie and closed the door behind her.

"Well, it seems I can go ahead and sign off on the capping and we can officially move to the next lessons, let's get to it!"

Grey spent the next few hours learning the different types of techniques for healing and then was asked to execute them for his instructor. Then after lunch, he learned the history and theories about Yin and Yangs and the research that was currently being done. And lastly, he learned his rights as a Yin Healer and all the things that Yangs were not allowed and could be punished for.

Since he had at least skimmed the story, he knew the basic setup of the world and since it was part of a genre he was familiar with, he didn't think he would be missing much, but apparently, there were a lot of things that Yangs could be punished for trying against Yins. It was actually kind of shocking how much they were ignored by Yangs despite it.

This world was known to have many kidnappings and abuse of high rank Yins, and it honestly didn't make sense that Yangs would even attempt that knowing that their very lives could be at stake if they fucked around and hurt Yins but again.. the natural nature of Yins were timid and seemed to work in favor of these psychos. What a shitty story setup. He really wanted to punch his friend in the face, at least one good time.

Well, he was probably the only lucky one in this shit world. He was basically a predator disguised as prey. There wasn't a Yang in the world that would believe he was capable of taking their lives let alone could do it without even laying his hands on them. His control over energy was just that insane and his ability allowed him that right. If he wanted, he could make a Yang explode on their own energy like in a rampage or he could completely take all their energy from them until they died without being able to put up any type of resistance.

He had used something similar on Talen who was probably still sleeping in his bed, but not to the point that he would die. He did just enough that his body would naturally shut down to try and replenish what it needed to function since Yangs were almost indestructible and healed rapidly. If it were a normal civilian- if they had that type of energy, then they definitely would have died without that natural buff Yangs have for healing.

Sure, he probably shouldn't use his ability to knock out a one night stand so that he could get out without seeing them but it was his ability so he'd do what he wanted. He wasn't a hero and had no intention of starting to be one.

  ------------

Talen blinked his eyes a few times in confusion.

  Something was blocking his view.

It was stuck to his head, so he frowned and pulled it from it face and then looked around.

He wasn't in his bedroom and he wasn't locked up.

But also, he couldn't remember the last time he had ever slept so deeply since he had awakened.

Not only that, but he was completely refreshed. Like, brand new. No painful body aches, no screaming headaches, no constant ringing in his ears and he could actually smell again. He couldn't remember the last time he could actually smell something.

His body had just been so used to shitty purifications that couldn't completely heal his S rank body despite having S rank healers. His corrupted body had broken down so his sense of smell had disappeared years ago. And yet, here he sat, able to smell.

He sat on the bed stupefied as he sucked in a large lungful of air and savored the smells he could finally sense. He couldn't even remember what to categorize things as but as dove back into the sheets and inhaled the smell covering every inch of its surface the one thought that came to mind was : sweet.

  so fucking sweet.

It wasn't a floral sweet smell, like flowers it was more like.. fruits? No... like... honey and whiskey. Sticky but not overwhelming, smooth but burned you from the inside out... addicting. That's what it was. It was addicting. He wanted to taste it again. To swallow it whole. To completely devour Grey.

  Grey.

The memories of last night swarmed into his mind all at once and his dick immediately hardened, he groaned and stroked himself. The pleasure of last night was unforgettable. It was consuming, overwhelming and something he never thought possible compared to purification. He needed it. He wanted it.

  He wanted Grey.

There was nothing more to think about. He wanted him, so he would have him. He'd figure the rest out later if it came to mind. But right now, he had to figure out how to get Grey to meet him again. He went to stand up when the crinkling in his hand caught his attention once more.

He smirked, Grey had tapped the note to his face.

The more he thought about Grey, the more amusing he seemed. He picked up the note, thinking it was probably asking for more since their night was so electrifying. There's no way he wouldn't want more after last night.

No need to leave your contact info. Lock up on your way out.

  -Grey

Talen stared at the note. He growled and crumpled it in his hand and sighed. Looks like his little sweet was going to be much harder to convince than he originally thought. But that didn't matter, he would persuade him even if he had to resort to not so nice ways, he would convince him.

  -----------------

Darren finished signing his document and handed the rest to his secretary.

  "What's the report?"

He glanced up at his secretary who coughed and then looked to the papers in his hands.

"Grey has checked out of the hotel."

  "He what?"

The secretary coughed again and looked at Darren, "The hotel contacted us this morning to let us know that he had checked out yesterday evening. She hadn't known about it until this morning so she was only able to let us know now."

Darren growled, "I told him to stay still! Where is he now?"

"Ah, he apparently had his examination yesterday and was classified as unique. So they had him move into the Association's Yin residence on the top floors for the higher ranks so he can have round the clock security detail."

"What? Unique? What was his ranking?" Darren frowned, holding his hand out to ask for the report. The secretary nodded and handed him the papers and continued to speak.

"He is C-rank but he was classified as unique because his frequency literally matches with every Yang hunter ever registered in the database."

  "That's impossible."

"I'm sure that's what they thought too but after checking with the researchers a few times they also concluded there is no mistake in the data they collected from the test. He is compatible with every Yang. It is just that his rank is C so he won't have to worry about Bs and above but those below will act crazy since they are always the last to be helped and purified. They are the most difficult to match with since their frequencies aren't that strong and don't connect easily to other frequencies. But his will fit anyone's. So the Association believed it was best to put him under protection immediately. "

Darren stared at the report in his hand and couldn't believe what he was seeing but no matter how many times he blinked the text on the paper didn't rearrange itself to say something else. So his little bird had flown the cage and was now in someone else's cage.

He leaned back in his chair and steepled his fingers against his chest. He should be relieved that he actually didn't have to watch him anymore but the more he thought about him being outside of his sight, the angrier it made him. Grey was a wild card. Unpredictable. He needed to be watched and he needed to be contained.

It was only right for Darren to do so since he had already caused Darren so much trouble. And protection? Who could protect him better than he could? He didn't need the Association when his fiancé could do it better. Yes, it would be better if he was under his protection. Only he could do it.

Darren stood for his chair and picked up his jacket, "Cancel the rest of my meetings for this evening. Let's go."

The secretary shut his shocked open mouth with a snap and ran after Darren as he made his way to the elevator and then down to the car waiting for him after the secretary called for it. The secretary quickly ran to the door to open it for him and then jumped in the passenger seat to signal the driver to move.

  "Where to, sir?"

  "Association."

The secretary glanced back at Darren in shock before shaking his thoughts and getting back to his duties. He didn't understand what his boss was thinking but since it involved Grey he knew it was probably meant to stop trouble before it could start. It was strange and he couldn't truly think of reason but his boss was extremely rational and intelligent. He was sure he would learn the reason for this impulsive action soon.

Meanwhile Darren, staring out the car window sat with his anger and something akin to excitement. He couldn't really understand why he was feeling excited at the thought of seeing Grey but the feeling was there all the same. The only way he could sort himself out was to address the issue head on and so that is exactly what he was heading to do.

At least, that is what he told himself he was doing.

It wasn't until he actually arrived and saw his little bird wrapped up in the arms of a white snake talking about the night they shared that his thoughts completely left him.

Yea, he certainly wasn't full of rage because the snake had already had a taste of his little bird and he certainly wasn't upset that the snake was trying to talk him into being his fuck buddy.

  No.

He was pissed off because his little bird was out of the cage and he didn't know what it had been up to and now it had pests slithering around it trying to take it from him again. Yea, it wasn't because someone had touched his bird before him.

It truly wasn't. Or so he thought.
