Leonidas stood in the training room, still resting, though the weapon he had used was badass. It was inefficient due to his weight. He would have preferred a simple blade, instead, perhaps a war sword, which was similar to a long sword but a bit longer

  After resting for a couple of minutes, Leonidas got up and walked over to Edward, who was practising his swing, but before he could say anything, his attendant called him.

  “Your highness, the king requests you to be at his chamber at once”, the attendant said before going

  Leonidas walked through the castle grounds and went straight for the Palace, a big mansion with gold pillars and quartz walls

  He entered the simple Palace and walked across it, looking for his father until he found him

  When he finally found his father, Cecil

  Cecil said to Leonidas, “Son, you may not be happy, but I have arranged a political marriage with you and the Princess of Brahman, as they are our allies” A sign of regret appeared on his stone-cold face

  Leonidas recognised that the name Brahman was the neighbouring kingdom and had a lot of military might in comparison to the nation of Gradalon

  “Why Father, you expect to be angry, but I am not, as the kingdom of Brahman is stronger in terms of military might, so it isn’t a bad plan to secure some territory, so I shall go, though I do have a singular request from you”

  “What is your request, son??” Cecil asked curiously

  “Please, Father, allow me to go into the Rift near the training hall”, Leonidas asked pleadingly

  Without hesitation, Cecil replied, “Sure, just make sure you are safe, and also you must at least clear the Rift within ten days, as on the tenth day is when you are heading to the kingdom of Brahman”

  Leonidas was shocked at what his father said, but took the moment without hesitation, “OK, father understood”

  Leonidas went out of the Palace and back to the training hall, where he saw Edward resting

  Suddenly, an idea popped into his head, “Hey Edward, how about you help me clear the ice Rift in the hall?”

  Leonidas borrowed gear from Edward, which was a black and red armour similar to that of Leonidas Flames

  Edward also gave him a war sword with enhanced magical properties

  After he had prepared himself, both men entered the Rift

  It was a seemingly new experience for Leonidas. It felt calming and relaxing. It felt almost euphoric

  All of a sudden, he found himself in a snowy area, with snow covering the ground for miles. Good thing Edward brought a jacket, or he would freeze to death

  Edward turned around to Leonidas, asking him, “Your highness, what tier of drifter are you?”

  Leonidas pondered before replying with a simple head shake, “Edward, is there a way to check?”

  “Yes, your highness, there is all you have to do: pour Rift energy into your talent, but don’t activate it”

  Leonidas followed his orders and saw a singular word adept

  Leonidas turned to Edward and blurted out, “I’m an adpet stage”

  But before Edward could react, an icicle flew at him with speed, breaking the sound barrier

  Edward dodged and took the icicle Lance on the ground and chucked it to where it came from

  Suddenly, a wolf with an icicle Lance stuck inside its belly ran towards Leo, but he quickly activated his talent, black and redflamese swirled around Leo’s hand

  He shot a ball of these flames at the wolf, searing it well done

  “damn it, there must be more,, Edward said as he prepared to fight

  Leonidas felt condensed 6 Rift energy and two big ones

  Suddenly, a wolf lunged at Leonidas with a bunch of icicles, 3 feet tall, and flew at him

  He quickly pulled out his sword, coating it in black and crimson flame, and slashed at the wolf’s mouth, but it caught the blade with its teeth, trying to rip the blade

  Leonidas intensified the flame while another wolf lunged at Edward. He strengthened his body with Rift energy before slashing the wolf’s neck, killing it

  While the wolf on Leonidas died from its flames

  Suddenly,y two massive wolves with horns on their heads and a chilling aura appeared on a nearby cliff

  All of a sudden, a huge ice block was dropped on Leo and Edward

  Leo tried to destroy it with his flames, but the ice was too strong ‘damn it, why won’t it melt’ Leo thought

  Lightning flowed into a dragon and broke the ice. The lightning came out of Edward. Finally, Edward had used his talent

  Lightning coursed through Edward’s body as Leo got excited to see Edward go all out in a stroke of extreme confidence

  “Edward, eliminate my enemy at once”, Leo commanded Edward like a king

  But Edward bowed and replied, “I understand, my lord”

  Edward increased the intensity of the lightning and sped up to a wolf trying to slash their neck off, but a 20 icicle got launched at him, and he had to go back and dodge

  But Edward quickly summoned a bolt of lightning and launched it at one of the alpha, but the alpha used an ice wall to block it, and the wall instantly broke, leaving an opportunity for Edward to strike

  Edward took the opportunity and struck one of the alpha down before striking the other down instantly. Suddenly, an icicle half-formed and almost struck his crotch

  But he quickly grabbed it before it ruined his manhood

  Edward then chopped the head of the alpha wolf while bringing their cores to Leo

  Leo had already started absorbing the cores, regaining his lost Rift energy

  Edward knelt and brought the head to Leo “You have done well, Edward”

  “Thank you, your highness”, Edward replied,d smiling

  “Should we set up camp here, your highness?” Edward asked

  But Leo replied, “No, Edward, we shall keep moving, but we shall set up camp later”

  “Understood, your highness”, Edward replied, sheathing his sword

  They walked deep into the snow a large forest was in front

  Leo and Edward entered the forest. The forest was twisting and haunting as they saw tall trees, with snow blanketing the branches

  Suddenly, they heard screams, insane screams, mad screams

  They ran to the scene to see something horrifying

  Several people's bodies were mangled, their blood in cauldrons, their skin thinned to spaghetti width, and their organs compressed

  Leo vomited, “What the fuck is that?”
