The sun doesn’t want to look at me

  Finding my friend wasn’t easy.

I guess once the explosions went off she ran straight toward them, even though it was pretty obvious what they were.

I can’t fault her for being curious, but this is a bit too much.

After essentially combing through half of Red Vine, I spotted my friend with a group of mumblies in front of the nearest clinic.

I thought it was strange because that’s the same pce I checked out before, there’s nothing left that’s useful there so I wondered why she was there.

Well, I helped her up off the ground and wiped all the food off her face with a rag. She kept trying to bite it out of my hand while I wiped her down.

Jeez. Like girl, please. You’re so filthy, I can’t let you track this shit back in my house.

The other mumblies simply minded their own business and kept eating their snack together.

It reminded me I haven’t eaten yet as well.

My friend didn’t say anything to expin to me why she ran off like a little kid, upset with her parents because they didn’t let her adopt a cat she wanted.

I held her arm and escorted her home. Who knew trying to take care of and look out for your friends was this difficult, huh?

  Later

Why does everyone have to make everything a fucking problem? Is it that hard to just get along?

I bring my friend back who seriously needs a bath and to rex, then my other friend decides he wants to try to police who I bring back TO MY OWN HOUSE?

He acts like she’s diseased or something. She just needs fresh clothes and some soap and water. Jesus Christ.

I told him if he doesn’t tone shit down, he’s free to leave.

  He stopped arguing.

  Embers in the darkness

  Finally!

I just finished cleaning her up and getting her something proper to eat. Once she was done, I helped her back outside and secured her to the fence again.

  She’ll be alright now.

My other friend though, is still clearly unhappy, he’s eating upstairs and probably going to sleep up there by himself too. Whatever. He can be a baby all he wants, just not around me.

Now that things are normal around here again, I’m back to listening to the radio.

I’m hearing a lot of fragments of conversations like usual, but this time they sound a bit more frantic?

It’s hard to write down what I hear exactly, cause I keep second guessing or mishearing words.

But, I’ll just say it seems like people are doing head counts and trying to get in touch with friends or other communities.

Then there’s also like, military sounding mumbo-jumbo I can’t make heads or tails of at all.

I’ll keep searching and listening though.

The radio helps pass the time that seems to crawl on forever.

Eventually I might get some kind of a hint where one of these groups are.

I’ll find more people this way, surely. I need more friends, nicer ones.

And I got so many good things to trade.

  They’ll like it.
