“Damnit that hurt you asshole, couldn’t you have just been a little more gentle with me?” Domushi asked as he sat up in the pile of rubble. Looking around he saw that he’d barreled through four buildings all of which collapsed atop of him. Only a single steel support beam still standing the rest shards of broken glass, brick and drywall piled waist high. “I’m almost forty ya know, one slip in the shower and I’m done for.”
“What, you wanna take a breather before I kick your ass some more?” Jin grinned, with his hands in his pocket he looked down at Domushi from the steel support beam. “Sorry don’t feel like it- the quicker I beat you the easier my job is.”
“I wouldn’t say no to a breather if you offered it.” Domushi grunted as he rose to his feet with a cough. Straightening his back with a few pops he felt a dull ache across his entire body. Thankfully he’d managed to [Negate] the damage he would have taken from Jin's punch. A cold sweat breaking down his back as the recoil alone was enough to throw him this far- what could the damage have been if the blow actually landed? I might have just died… He thought with a yawn. “What’s your guy's whole goal here anyways? I’m not much of a detective- that’s more Aotoris lane so you might have to lay it out for me bare. You wanna beat us but just how are you gonna pull it off?”
“Asking the hard hitting questions already huh?” Jin frowned, ruffling his light blonde hair. “Well I guess I can tell you since you’re gonna die anyways.”
“That confident?”
“Of course, and then once I squish you I’ll pick the others off one by one.”
“Then what’s up with the barrier.”
Jin laughed, “To make sure not a single one of you escapes me.” He sneered.
Domushi frowned and ran a hand through his own greasy blonde hair, tangling in knots around his finger he winced as he ripped his fingers free. “That so huh… Guess I just gotta hold you out then.”
[Negate: Inertia!]
Digging the end of his sandals into the gravely floor and flicking them up with toes Domushi flung the bits of gravel at Jin, each spinning with near infinite speed they flew straight at Jin who frowned.
[Gravity Amplification: Crush]
With a bang and hiss the gravel was smashed to the floor and bore pin sized pricks into the ground as they stretched deep down into the planet's crust. Seeing Domushi suddenly appear with his left hand outstretched reaching for Jin, Jin turned to him and spoke. “Is that as fast as you can go?”
“!?”
Domushi’s eyes widened as his hand bounced off something hard, something smooth and invisible. A barrier!? He wondered.
With a flick of his hips Jin smashed his fist straight into Domushi's stomach, there was a flash of red as Domushi [Negated] the impact but he was still sent flying backwards through the air.
Domushi grit his teeth as he felt his eyes roll around in his head like a pinball, senses blurring he struggled to keep focused. Damnit he’s fast, and the wind pressure from his punch can send me this far even if I negated it? He got me by surprise the first time but now I suspected it. If just one of these lands I might not be able to make it!
“!”
Suddenly appearing above Domushi was Jin, his leg lifted upwards he brought his heel down straight onto Domushi's head intending to crack it clean in half like a melon.
[Negate]
Once more there was a flash of Red as Jin’s attack failed yet unlike the previous time in which Jin felt himself throw the punch yet hit nothing this time it was as if he’d never even swung his leg down in the first place. In fact his leg was still raised overhead despite knowing he’d swung it downwards. He negated the cause and effect? He thought with a frown. No, that can’t be I still raised by leg overhead so it’s more like he negated two different stages of the effect. The first time it was the actual impact of my punch but this time it was the act of me swinging my leg down.
Flying through the air Domushi came to a stop as he grabbed a street sign and swung himself down to his feet. [Negate: Weight] With a flesh of red he ripped the sigh straight from the concrete as if it was weed plucked from mud. [Negate: Interita!] Then with a second flash Domushi threw the sign forwards as if it was javelin.
So he can negate the same thing twice? Jin wondered as he stuck his hand out. [Divide: 8/1] Mid air the sign was sliced into 8 clean pieces. Falling to the floor with a bang the pieces spun in a circle until eventually they came to a stop laying motionless. Like I thought. What he negates the Inertia of only carries that effect until it comes to contact with some kind of phenomena then they begin to slow down quickly. If that wasn’t the case they’d just end up flying around the planet destroying everything.
Not done yet, Domushi threw from his pocket a handful of sand and with another a flash of red the grains spun through the air flying towards Jin.
Again? [Gravity: Amplification Crush] and just like before the bits of gravel slammed into the ground with a spin, drilling into the earth and vanishing from sight. Already expecting it, Jin turned to his side and saw Domushi standing there, hand reaching for his person. “Didn’t you learn the last time?” He asked with a frown.
[Negate]
“!?”
If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
Jin’s eyes widened as his [Divine Domain] the bubble-like barrier he always wore when not in the Venator Tower popped around him, and Domushi's hand violated his private space. Grimy finger nails nearly brushing his person he grit his teeth,
[Gravity Amplification: Repulse]
Domushi was flying, at least if felt like he was, he didn’t know what was up or what was down, only that everything around him was blue. Then he came to a stop, suddenly on his feet with a skid he looked up to see Jin nearly 100 meters in the distance standing in the middle of the street with a scowl on his face. “He threw me!?” He asked aloud, looking down at his hands. How disorientating, it’s like being spun in a blender! Reaching into his pocket he felt them still plenty filled with sand and gravel.
Jin likewise across the street was deep in thought, a scowl- a genuine scowl- how long since he’d last worn one like this he couldn’t remember. His blessing doesn’t just erase the effect of an action- it’s also Anti-Etheral! Molars grinding Jin's hand flexed inside his blazer pocket. If he can negate [Divine Domain] there’s no reason he can’t do the same to the barrier I cast around Shibuchu ward. But based on what I’ve seen so far getting around this [Negation] blessing won’t be easy… Jin tried not to grin- but his lips curved into one and his white teeth sparkled. “I gotta admit this is fun, our date I mean.” He said, striding towards Domushi who grimaced. “It’s been a while since I had to deal with someone like you, who doesn’t pop at the first squeeze.”
“Not interested, I'm not a homo.” Domushi frowned, shaking his head violently.
“Blame your language for only having so many for the term.” Now only 20 meters away from Domushi he stopped, taking his hands from his pockets and throwing them in the air as he shrugged.
“You speak Edogo pretty well though, no you might just speak it better than me.” Laughing, Domushi stretched his arms behind his back with a pop.
“Thanks, it means a lot coming from someone with such a flowery mouth as you.” Jin winked.
“Ugh- I thought you said this wasn’t gay.” He shook his head. “And besides I thought you wanted to hurry up and kill me so what’s up with the chatting? You gonna try and switch me over to your side? No thanks.”
“This is.” Jin grinned ear to ear as his eyes narrowed and he flicked his index finger up.
[算門の万壐: Seal Of Solomon]
“!?”
Four glowing circles- [Altas] formed around Domushi in a rectangle and from them burst forth with chains which wrapped around his person. Layering and knotting they bound him down and even when he tried to [Negate] the spell he found it impossible. Just breathing was a struggle, it was as if the chains were counter balanced by the planet itself.
“W-what-!?”
“Don’t tell anyone I used this, It’s considered forbidden.” Jin laughed ruffling his hair. “I might get yelled at if you let it slip, but in times like this it’s pretty useful huh?”
Domushi tried to [Negate] he strained himself so hard he felt like he might just pop every blood vessel in his body but there was no flash of red- nor no chill up his back nor even ache in his hand- he felt nothing. “W-what did you do!?”
“I sealed your soul, since you like to run your mouth I thought why not let you talk yourself into a trap while I set it up right under you?” Jin twirled his finger through the air as he spoke. “This spell in particular is one not even I can break out of easily- but if you really wanna know how I did it; I just took four [Waypoints] nearby and rewove their runes, turning them into Anchors for the seal-”
Domushi ignored Jin and tried to push against the chains, but he was stuck in place, every breath like his lungs were made of lead. But the most frightening thing, without question, was the fact he couldn’t even feel his own Soul any longer.
“-He doesn’t use observation.” Jin continued. “That’s what I was told about you. Guess it was a useful tip afterall?”
SHUUP!
The air whistled and Jin's eyes flicked to the left as he saw a sniper round crash straight into one of the four [Atlas] blowing the asphalt it was bound to into rubble and destroying the seal which bound Domushi.
“Oi Yamikawa, come to join the party!?” Domushi laughed looking towards the direction the bullet came from. The chains around him snapping as he flexed he jumped backwards.
Jin frowned- with his [Pure Eyes[ he could see a man standing before an open window in a four story building's top level roughly 300 meters away, a long and narrow sniper barrel pointed directly at him. Another Hachibuto… He thought with a sigh, puckering his lips he tilted his head to the side. Asago Yamikawa, best assassin of the Toumeikan. The fact it was my [Pure Eyes] that saw the bullets first and not my observation means his bullets somehow are able to avoid detecting… how annoying. I’ll have to leave him for now. Turning to Domushi, Jin pulled his hand from his blazer pocket. I won’t be able to use that [Seal] again either now, he’s definitely wisened up and started to use [Observation]...
“I’ll ignore him for now, first I gotta deal with you.” Jin smirked, turning to Domushi and raising his right hand- index and middle finger pointed outwards like a finger gun, veins spread across the surface of dense and highly defined muscle. Each indention and insertion visible it looked as if the ivory colored arm of Jin had been carved by the hand of God himself out of the finest marble in that moment. His aura writhed around his arm, a dark blood red mist the same color as his dreadful eyes. “Let’s see if you can get away from this one?”
Domushi didn’t even time to curse before it happened, a flash of light the color- no the colors of which he’d never before in his life seen, colors alien to any human violating his retinas.
[Unseen Colors]
Made of accelerating particles spinning at an infinitely high speed the friction of said particles resulted in a color alien to the human eye. Once hit by said particles whatever was struck had its atoms evaporated and if the target was a human, all 70 octillion would be annihilated. Not a single person had ever survived being hit by the spell.
[Negate!]
Domushi reacted as faster than he ever heard before- he was happy he’d begun to use [Observation] he’d never needed to bother with it before. No one had ever been faster than him afterall. The idea of an attack hitting him was alien- until now.
With a flash of red the colors dispersed, bursting into mana which would soon enough dissolve into Kami. Though it was true that no one had survived being hit by [Unseen Colors] it was still possible to react faster than it could strike, if such a thing was possible. Domushi's head throbbed in pain, his sensory organs already sore. Observation like a muscle grew stronger when trained and Domushi might as well have never lifted a weight in his life.
SHUP!
SHUP!
SHUP!
Three sniper rounds shot at Jin and bounced off of his [Divine Domain] with a clack.
So the force of the phenomena doesn’t matter; he can still negate it. Though I imagine he can’t negate a Tsunami or typhoon so it must be limited to human actions or common natural events. He can negate a rock falling from a cliff but not a land slide. Jin thought. “See, even your buddy showing up doesn't make a difference. Ready to quit while you still have the chance?” He asked, tilting his head to the side with a sneer.
“Quit?” Dmoushi asked, snorting. “I’m just tired of this back and forth." He snorted, picking at his ringing ears.
“Then how about we speed it up?” With that Jin appeared like a flash before Domushi.
2:20PM
I think it’s important to note that while I say “infinite speed” with certain things I must make something clear, the human concept of infinite and the true amount of infinity are completely different.
Humans simply cannot grasp such a massive concept, so we cope by trying to imagine it- and magic matches that. So while Domushi’s [Negated] gravel might have no inertia and therefore hold infinite speed the speed is only as quick as the infinity that a human can comprehend there for while still incredibly fast it’s not truly infinite. If it was, the entire universe would just explode right then and there.
