Chapter 171: Immortal Dragon and Kai (1)

Kai pulled Kevin and Jack through the entrance, and they slowly came to themselves. They had been in the Dragon Illusion for a while, and they realized it at first, but it didn't matter.Over time, they were drawn into the Illusion, unable to get out of it, and so they lost themselves in it.

When the three entered, at first they couldn't pay attention to anything because they were interested in each other. But soon they saw the space that made them gasp.

  "What is this...place?"

The place where the trio entered was gigantic. How could there be another cave so big inside this cave? Just looking up, they felt like they were going to fall to the ground because of the size of that huge space. This cave was almost 10 miles high, defying the laws of physics.Because these three could have sworn they had never been down 10 miles.

For Kai, it was reminiscent of Kain's cave, but even the incredible, Dual-Finger World-Slashing Art in that cave didn't have such an impressive, large area. That's because it didn't need to have such a large area—it was just a statue and an inscription.

"So you came back after all these years!"

The voice boomed so loudly that Kai, Kevin, and Jack trembled with excitement. Suddenly, the ground and sky of the cave shifted, and the three friends felt a thrilling surge of energy. The urge to puke was so intense that Kai and his friends couldn't fight it.They all started vomiting simultaneously, and it wasn't until a few minutes later that they realized where they were vomiting.

  "Where are we?"

They were surprised to find themselves vomiting in the sky. Yes, they were vomiting in the sky! The clouds were moving slowly under their feet, and they could look down and see New Seattle. They could see Seattle from the sky!

"We are in the past, Kai..."

The three friends jumped back involuntarily when they suddenly heard the roaring sound again, but what surprised them more was that it was a gigantic dragon, 3 kilometers long!

The Dragon was similar to the ones described in the Legends, with two huge wings and red and black scales. If he just hit his tail on the ground, the world would split in two! Only someone who saw it could understand how terrifying and noble it was, and this trio could feel it in their bones."

What I have to show you is the past. I am a fragment of the Immortal Dragon's consciousness, left behind in the Skylands, and he has been patiently waiting for you, Kai.It's time for you to learn some things."

The ground shifted, revealing a cave not far from Seattle. This cave, familiar to Kai, Kevin, and Jack, was a place that, for some mysterious reason, no one touched. Despite being just a few kilometers from the city, this area is completely surrounded by nature, as if it were a hidden gem waiting to be discovered.

But just by looking at this area, Kai realized a very important problem.A lot of things were still clearly visible from the sky, but Kai noticed that the Library where he always went in the city was not there.

"How many years behind are we?"

"Thirteen years. Not too long after you and Kevin met."

The trio continued to observe the unfolding scene below, waiting patiently for some reason outside the cave. They appeared to be eagerly awaiting someone's arrival.

At that moment, a small boy with blond hair and blue eyes strolled past. He had chubby cheeks and sweet eyes, and he was incredibly cute.No one understood why he was outside the city or in this area, as a place so far away was not typically a spot for a young boy.

Little Kai looked up at the sky, which was filled with promise. It looked like it was going to rain, and his mother would be very angry with him if he got his clothes wet.At that moment, the cave came into view, and little Kai hurried into the cave to avoid getting wet.

"I don't remember any of this,"

Kai spoke, and though the others only heard him, their eyes were fixed intently on the unfolding scene. It was evident from Kai's expression that he didn't recall the moment, but if he did, he would have said so right away.

"Mommy will be so angry with me for coming late."

Little Kai felt a surge of excitement. Suddenly, he had a strong inclination to rush into the cave and explore its secrets.

  "I wonder what's inside?"

Little Kai's curiosity got the better of him, and he couldn't resist the feeling. He ventured deeper into the cave, and Kai and the others in the sky followed closely behind. When Kai looked back, he was amazed by the transformation of the Immortal Dragon into a man with red hair and green eyes. The man appeared to be around 25 or 30 years old. He was strikingly handsome, a true beauty, and his features were reminiscent of a mannequin.

Kai and the others were amazed. After all, it would have been strange to expect this Dragon to transform into a human, but they soon cursed themselves, wondering how someone who had reached a Legendary level of Level 9 could not change shape.

Little Kai, meanwhile, had already made some progress in the cave when a man caught his eye. There was a man lying in a pool of blood, reaching out his arm to touch the ring a short distance away. The man was covered in blood, and it looked like he didn't have the strength to move.It was incredible that he could move at all, given the extent of his wounds.

When Kai, Kevin, and Jack saw the man, they turned their gaze to the 25 or 30-year-old man standing behind them, and then to the 25-30-year-old man in front of them, covered in blood. They were both exactly the same.

  "Hey, you're the same!"

  "Shhhhh! Don't interrupt the moment!"

The man finally gave up and let himself fall to the ground. Despite his valiant efforts, he couldn't reach the ring. Then, with a burst of laughter, he threw himself back and gazed up at the cave's ceiling. He had traversed the vast heavens and vanquished the givers, yet now, he found himself face-to-face with death, all because he couldn't reach a ring.

"Am I going to die in a place like this?"

  "Uncle."

Bart's head snapped around, and there he was: a little boy, about 4 or 5 years old, standing in front of him. The boy was holding the ring he had been trying to reach for hours, and he was smiling and looking so innocent! It was a smile and a look that Bart had never seen before. He had been in the Ancestral Realm for a long, long time and had seen many betrayals. He had seen his fair share of scoundrels and scumbags, but he'd never seen a smile like that in a long time.

"Uncle, I think you were trying to get this."

Bart felt warm all over from the little boy's sincerity. He was grateful to him.Millions of years ago, his own family had betrayed him. They had become a race called the Titans and fought the Ancestors. In that war, he had been forced to kill his own family and had never been with anyone again. But now, the boy's behavior seemed very close to him.

  "Thank . . . you..."

Bart was still in shock, but he slowly took the ring from Little Kai's hand, took a pill from it, and put it in his mouth.

"Oh, Uncle, did you do magic?"

It seemed like magic to Little Kai when something suddenly came out of the ring. It was the compression of Dimensional energy! But he didn't tell this to a small child, who was unaware of the development.

"Yeah. Isn't it really fun? I'd show it to you one more time, but I'm too tired today. Some other time, okay?"

Bart hadn't laughed in a long, long time. When he laughed in front of Little Kai, his jaw made a few cracking sounds. Little Kai, however, didn't seem to notice. Instead, he nodded enthusiastically, clearly approving of Bart.

For the next few hours, the two friends laughed without stopping. Their joyous laughter echoed through the cave, filling the air with pure happiness. Bart couldn't remember ever laughing so much in his life. How many years had he lived? How many ages? He had lived beyond his time, but after so many years, he was struck by a newfound joy.

Not for the first time, but it was hard to say it didn't feel different.

When the rain finally stopped, Little Kai gathered his things and stood up.

“I'll come back tomorrow. Show me your magic trick tomorrow, will you, Uncle?”

Bart nodded and Little Kai quickly left the cave and went home. He, too, was happy for the first time in a long time. For the young Little Kai, this moment would leave an indelible mark on his memories.

In the days that followed, Little Kai paid frequent visits to Bart, delighted in the magic tricks Bart revealed to him, and laughed heartily. It was a joy to witness the unparalleled bond between father and child, one that was unlike his own experiences with his offspring countless ages ago. In the distant past, he and his fellow Trillions had been mere means to continue their lineage and strengthen the Ancestors. This approach had not been universally embraced by all Ancestors. The power of emotion is what keeps the Ancestors at the top to this day, and Bart's journey shows just how far the power of emotion can take you. Over time, Bart forgot the love of family and challenged life with his other emotions, breaking his limits and climbing to the top. But in the end, the same emotions that had lifted him up had also brought him down.

After years of adventure and days of fun, Bart the Immortal Dragon had finally chosen his heir, and the world was ready for a new era.
