Long ago, in a land claimed to have perished, an extraordinary civilization unlocked secrets of the natural world that we are only beginning to rediscover. In this distant place, known to its people as Al’antiis—Atlas, in our common tongue—a fascinating technology emerged, an art known as ma’jek.
This ancient craft harnessed the very forces of magnetism and electricity, or rather, electromagnetism, granting its practitioners an unprecedented power over the natural world. The source of this power was an energy known as Manitou-Tawa, which was believed to flow through all living things.
To use ma'jek, one had to extract this vital essence from plants, animals, or even the earth’s magnetic field itself. It was a process both wondrous and terrible, for as the practitioner continuously drew upon the life force of their source, they inevitably drained its vitality, leaving it weakened or, in some cases, lifeless.
Like natural laws suggest, there is cause and effect; power has a price.
Another technology from those days worth noting here is Ne’ahwe-ka, or something we would call Neo-Genesis. Humans of this distant land, driven by boundless curiosity and ambition, sought to challenge the very order of creation itself.
Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
Neo-Genesis was not merely an endeavor of science or a simple curiosity. It was a bold attempt to reshape the foundation of existence—to play the role of the creator rather than the created. In the pursuit of becoming the most high, the ancient humans of this land delved into the mysteries of creation, harnessing the power of genetics and artificial intelligence to fashion beings in their own image.
They dared to create life where none had existed before, defying the natural order of things.
I felt compelled to specifically highlight these two ancient, supernatural technologies because it does in fact feel as if we are arriving upon an age in which these technologies are coming to life.
Again.
What this means for us… I guess only time will tell.
Though, what I am certain of is, as the chosen harbingers of peace upon the world, we have many paths that lay before us.
One path is distinctly ours–that which is right, side-by-side with many that are distinctly not ours–those which are wrong.
The present is a gift. We choose what to do with that eternal moment.
“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” Matthew 7:13-14
