(50.1) Sibling Quarrel

  Meanwhile, in the Distortion World…

Giratina, Ruler of Distortion and Antimatter, Lord of Shadows, the Renegade god, rested his chin on an island as he stared adoringly at his new, shiny, sparkly, and very expensive looking shrine. Palkia and Dialga had nothing on this, despite always having more followers, all their temples were made of stone or marble at the best, but never crystal.

There was a hum as space warped, and a bright purple rift appeared near Giratina, who jerked up and glared at the unwelcome sight. An even more unwelcome, ugly purple face popped into view.

Sup my bro? Palkia nonchalantly rumbled. The space dragon’s red eyes immediately gravitated over to Giratina’s new temple, and his jaw dropped. Woooooah, that’s a nice shiny thing you got there. Did that little weirdo make it for you?

Giratina just grunted and glared daggers at his brother. Leave immediately.

Actually, I’m not in your realm. Palkia replied matter-of-factly, the purple dragon poked his head through the rift, Now I am! Then he retracted his head. Now I’m not!

If Giratina’s glare could kill Palkia would be six feet under, Do that again, and I’ll close the rift and cut your head off.

Palkia wisely chose not to test Giratina’s patience and moved onto another topic. Anyways, you think I can borrow that human? I want a shiny temple in my own realm too. The ones the humans make in their realm break way too easily. She must be pretty capable if she can get her hands on so much shiny–

Giratina raised his wing tendrils and slammed them into the sides of the rift and began pulling the sides together, trying to force the rift shut. You have your own followers, go ask them to make something for you.

The gems on the sides of Palkia’s shoulders glowed and the rift returned to its original size. I dunno, the current generation isn’t as capable of building cool stuff as the past ones, and every time they make stuff I have to share it with Dialga and Arceus.

Space warped, and Palkia’s rift appeared closer to the shrine. This is a very nice style, I think it would look great in my realm, but more purple. Dialga, what do you think?

There was another warp in space, and a new rift opened up, showing a mostly blue realm filled with countless lines and blue-tinged mini portals showing stuff happening. The god of time looked over from the small group of Celebi she was just talking to.

The author's tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

Huh? The blue dragon floated over to the portal, Palkia, doesn’t your realm evaporate humans that enter it?

The god of space scratched his head and chuckled, Oh yeah! I forgot!

No you didn’t. Dialga said in a deadpan voice. Palkia rolled his eyes, But sissss, I want a cool temple tooooo. This generation of humans just isn’t as invested as they used to beeeee.

Dialga scoffed, That’s why you have to offer them something back to keep them invested, and I don’t just mean being stingy and only giving items to one human.

The area around Palkia’s portal began to warp and tear as the dragon pouted, Easy for you to say, you can time travel back to the Diamond and Pearl Clan era.

Giratina looked between the gods of time and space, uhhh, guys…you’re—

An amused hissed emanated from the god of time, Awww, if my baby brother jealous cause he can’t see the pearl clan anymore? If you’re that desperate I can send a Celebi to bring you some gifts from them~

Palkia opened his mouth like a muppet, You’d do that for me?

Haha! No. Dialga mockingly hissed. The gems on Palkia’s shoulders glowed as he reared his head and let out an echoing roar, ASSHOLE!

A cut of purple energy tore out of Palkia’s portal straight at Dialga, whose chest gem glowed as she responded, Pot calling kettle black! Blue energy shockwaves emanated out from Dialga’s mouth as she roared, rewinding time on Spacial Rend. The colliding energies sucked each other into a whirlpool before disappearing with a rippling BOOM and POP.

Giratina looked around his realm with panic and wrapped his temple island in a protective purple-black shield as his other islands began to warp and look like swiss cheese. The plants growing on them began to grow and then wither and then rewind back into seeds. The Celebi closest to Dialga squealed and then wheezed as it turned brown and withered like a moldy onion before turning into dust, making the rest of the Celebi decide this was a wonderful moment to fuck right off.

Palkia raised both his arms, preparing to send a double Spacial Rend, but a roar from Dialga trapped him in a loop, rewinding him a bunch of times as he tried to use the same move like a broken VHS tape.

ENOUGH! Giratina roared, dark energy emanating from him, turning the bright, oversaturated sky into a pitch-black abyss and dying the rest of realm a dark purple. The air hummed menacingly as shadowy antimatter poured out from Giratina’s tendrils and rushed through the portals, sending the other two gods tumbling back from the impact of before forcing the tears in space shut with a violent, resounding, BOOM!

The colors slowly returned to the Distortion realm as Giratina sighed and checked his realm for anything that might need to be repaired. It might be time to consider filing a complaint with Arceus. No, it wasn’t worth Palkia calling him tattle-tina for the next few hundred years.

The shadow dragon floated back to his thankfully unharmed temple. Dialga said something about keeping a follower invested… He never really had to do that before since he’d never had that many followers, and the most loyal ones were…unique individuals. He was thankful that the human Palkia called, ‘little weirdo’ didn’t find it necessary to sacrifice Skiddos, Gogoats, or Tauros to him. Not that he needed to eat, but raw, bloody hearts were never, and would never be appetizing to him.

Perhaps Palkia became jealous this time because Giratina’s past followers always made him shrines made of bone, which weren’t as pretty as marble and were not as durable as stone. He would have to add something extra to protect his property from his petty brother.

As for keeping ‘little weirdo’ invested…she seemed to make a lot of use with that cursed placed on her. Curses with no real malice behind them won’t even last a human lifetime, so he would invest in the human by giving her something better.
