The Anistar Sundial glittered in the moonlight, its dim pink glow cast a pleasant rosy shade on its surroundings. I was the only person there.
I sat down on one of the benches and stared at the undisturbed surface of Lake Astralis. It was nice here.
The ground rumbled, making me flinch. I tried to say something out loud, but there was no sound.
The rosy glow from the Sundial harshened, turning into a deep red and dying the sky crimson as the rumbling worsened. The air began humming like some sort of warped and intense, tone-deaf background music.
I stood up and watched as a massive cobra-like chunk of rock with red gems inlaid in its chest rose out of the lake, turning its peaceful waters into thrashing blood-red waves.
What the fuck? I tried to back away but found myself unable to move.
As the giant rock got closer, thick, red-veined vines burst out from it and reached for the Sundial. The humming intensified to the point that my vision began to shake, and I felt a sense of panic and anxiety that wasn’t my own rise to a peak.
My vision began getting wavy, so I blinked my eyes and gasped.
Now I was in a set of ruins wrapped in thick fog, standing at the bottom of a pyramid shaped structure. At the top of the pyramid were two pillars with strange flowing carvings that kinda reminded me of the pattern inside of a mega stone.
Both pillars began glowing with a radiant light.
Then I woke up in a cold sweat. Ugh, what time is it?
Something lightly tapped on the window, I turned and looked. It was a Natu, the little green bird stared back at me with blank eyes. I got out of bed and walked over to the window.
Natu hopped back and chirped as I opened the window. I didn’t like how eerily human-like its big eyes were.
“Hey little guy. You need something?” I asked the bird.
Natu stared at me for a little too long before softly chirping and hopping away. The bushes outside of my window rustled and a Xatu emerged. A few more Natu hopped out of the bushes after the bigger bird.

I frowned as all of them stared at me.
“Hello?”
They just stared.
“what is it?” Winnie blearily asked, he got up and joined me at the window.
I shrugged, “It’s a bunch of Natu and a Xatu. They’re kinda just staring at us? I dunno.”
“hmm. what a bunch of weirdos.” Winnie scratched his head as he gave the birds a stink eye.
GIANT. ROCK. METEOR. FALLS. DRACONID. CLAUDIA. SYLVESTER. A deep-pitched, and slightly slurred robotic voice vibrated through my head.
I winced as two images were roughly forced into my mind.
One was of a tanned woman in her twenties with wavy neck length black hair and striking sharp yellow eyes like that of a bird of prey.
The other was a man, also in his twenties, who looked to be an albino. He gave off the same vibes that a scheming fox would.
“Aaaagggghhh.” I groaned, rubbing my temples as I began to feel a headache coming on, “Whyyyyy? Why do you do this?”
“you alright?” Winnie asked, “what happened?”
I waved a hand, “I’ll be okay. Can you get my journal for me? And a pen. I need to write some stuff down.”
I heard some shuffling as Winnie walked over to my bag and began looking for the items I had requested.
Looking back up, the psychic bird Pokemon were gone. Winnie handed me the journal and a pen. I quickly wrote down the words that Xatu had given me and the context of the dream that I just had.
“what did they tell you?” Winnie asked as he peered over my shoulder, trying to read my chicken scratch handwriting.
“I don’t know.” I scratched my head as I read what I wrote, “Something related to Draconids, Meteor Falls, and a Giant Rock. I think I know what it’s talking about, but I need some time to figure things out.”
I yawned, “And I need sleep. I’m too tired to deal with this prophecy bullshit. We’ll try to figure this out in the morning.”
Closing the journal, I tossed it and the pen back into my bag, “I’m going back to bed. Close the window for me will you?”
Did it work?
Olympia opened her eyes and took a deep breath before replying, “Yes.” She took another moment to recenter herself, looking out the window at Lake Astralis’s dark waters.
The Alakazam standing behind her shared a relieved sigh with the two Meowstics standing opposite of it, I am glad that it worked this time.
The Gym Leader of Anistar City nodded, “We are not out of danger, but the new event will have less collateral damage than what we had before. This one will be more manageable.”
Will we have to prepare something for the new danger? The male Meowstic asked a bit apprehensively as the female Meowstic poured Olympia a glass of cold water.
“No.” Olympia said, giving the female Meowstic a nod of thanks as she took the glass of water and took a sip. “The boy that fate favors will be there to handle the new event.”
Looking a bit relieved, Alakazam wandered over to the office’s comfortable couch and sat down, Then things should turn out okay.
“Yes.” Olympia sighed as she walked over to join the psi Pokemon. She massaged her temples for a moment before lightly smiling, “I’m looking forward to finally getting some decent sleep.”
The two Meowstics came over and jumped onto the couch, each rubbing the soft fur on their heads on their trainer’s arms. You must be so tired. You’d better go to sleep soon or we’ll be mad.
Alakazam closed the curtains with a flick of her fingers, No doubt. This is why I have never envied those with the gift of prophecy. I truly don’t know how you manage.
“More like a curse of prophecy.” Olympia wearily replied and she patted her Meowstics. “I swear I get another strand of white hair every time I am burdened with another vision of the world ending.”
The psi Pokemon waved a hand as she took a seat across from Olympia, Oh don’t say that, you don’t look a day over thirty.
Olympia chuckled, “Thanks.”
The psychic then took a long look at the pictures of her team, family, friends, students, and employees hanging on the walls of her office and smiled, “As stressful as it may be, I would never wish for another power. My comfort and health are a small price to pay to keep those that I love happy and safe.”
