Day 1:
Knowing he was intelligent, Zefaris The Wise(Mad) released his beloved apprentid had him try to crawl using his entacle limbs. Tharick first struggled with trolli limbs, but soon adapted and could crawl at a slow walking pace.
However, it was too slow for fort, so Zefaris cast a levitation spell on Tharick before taking him like a kid holding a balloon to the Magic Testing room, where apprentices practice their spells with a magic testing device, a rge pilr in the ter of the room.
I, Zefaris took a magic-sing crystal orb from his spatial ste ring and gave it to Tharick.
"Well? Go ahead, d. Test it!" Zefaris urged.
"Yes, Master..." Tharick replied and put a tentacle on it.
The orb shone as letters and numbers fshed inside, measuring his rough attributes and Affinities.
S Results:Attributes(The base attributes of living beings):
Physique: 17 (A rough calcution of physical prowess. Adult Human Laborer Average is 10)Life Force: 17 (A rough calcution of Life Force sustaining the body. Each point is one year of lifespan)Magic Power: 17 (A rough calcution of yical Power used fid Mana Capacity. The average for humans is 10)Mental Strength: 86 (A rough calcution of your putational abilities aal fortitude. The average for humans is 10.)
Affinities:(Affects learning speed, manipution, and spell power. Average Affinity for humans is 10%)
Abjuration: 10%Charm: 2%juration: 3%Divination: 0%Evocation: 4%Illusion: 6%Neancy: 1%Transmutation: 100%
"Lad, is there any ge from your previous measurement?" Zefaris asked.
"Master Zefaris, my Physique, Magic Power, aal Strength rose by 8, 12, and 10 points. However, my Life Force decreased by 30... My affinities remain the same." Tharick said with plicated emotions. He was happy about the increase in attributes but knew he wouldn't live past 40, assuming he survived until then or wao survive.
In the beginning, Tharick had a meager 1 Magic Power and was sidered a magivalid. However, his incredibly high Mental Strength and perfect Transmutation affinity intrigued Zefaris, so he was categorized as an average apprentistead of a disposable test subject. Otherwise, with such high Mental Strength and Affinity, he would be Zefaris's chief apprehrough stant practid taking potions, Tharick raised it to 5 points- still the lowest iower! The number of times Tharick was mocked for his low magic was too many to t.
With 17 Magic Power, he could now be sidered mediocre. On a side note, Evile, who was also average, ehe tower with 9 Magic Power and now had 38 as a 22-year-old. However, Tharick also had high Mental Strength, which was harder to train than Magic Power.
"Odd. I remember Abberanthins beiual creatures like elementals and undead. Then again, they were never properly tested for Life Force, being how uncooperative they are." Zefaris muttered and wrote Tharick's statistics. "Regardless, we shall have to tinue daily observation."
Zefaris turo Evile, "Evile, you are now in charge of monit these ges every m, uood?"
"Yes, Master." Evile bowed her head, still finding it hard to look at Tharick.
"Good. Let's measure yical ability and see if it was impacted." Zefaris poi the pilr in the ter of the room, "You use onball, right? Try it."
onball was a 1st-level Transmutation spell costing 1 Mana point to cast. Every apprentice had to learn a lvl 1 spell, and Tharick should not have any problem casting it.
"Yes, Master," Tharick replied, crawling to the pilr, and toug it with his tentacle. "onball."
Hum*
The pilr absorbed his magic before showing its rough power.
Spellpower: 135(A rough power calcution for the spell. 10 is the full-power blow from a regur human punch.)
"Did you modify your spell? I remember the vanil version having a theoretical limit of 100." Zefaris inquired.
"Yes, Master," Tharick humbly replied.
Due to having low Magic Power, Tharick was forced to master this low-level spell that cost 1 Mana to cast for self-defense. His perfect affinity and high Mental Strength were the only things enabling him to practice magic.
"Not bad. W on the basics is important." Zefaris nodded in approval, something he rarely did. "Then I suppose you don't feel any abnormality when casting magic, right?"
"No, Master Zefaris. Since my Mana is higher, I feel less tired." Tharick replied.
Just like the body amina, Magic Power required Mana. Like stamina, Mana gradually recovered, but it could also be gathered through meditatiical potions, shortening the time. Simirly, Mental Strength is reted to Mental Power, and Life Force is reted to Vitality.
With that said, Tharick would previously grow tired after using it two or three times, so it was refreshing to use it without feeling fatigued.
"Not bad." Zefaris nodded. "After ensuring you are stable, I will let you return to your studies and roam the tower."
"Thank you, Master," Tharick was relieved. At least he wouldn't be treated like an animal.
"Now then, are you hungry or thirsty?" Zefaris curiously asked.
"Yes, Master. I am." Tharick replied. He did feel hungry.
"Good. Then we will start by determining your new pate." Zefaris smiled.
Tharick suddenly had a bad feeling about this.
Half an hour ter-
The trio were ba Zefaris's experiment room, with food samples on the floor.
The first sample group included processed human food, such as bread, butter, sausages, cooked eggs, etc.
The sed sample group included unprocessed ingredients, such as raw vegetables, fruits, grains, nuts, milk, meat(Cattle, Poultry, and Fish), and eggs.
The third sample group included cattle fodder.
The fourth sample group had poisonous food, such as mushrooms and toads.
The fifth group had magical materials, such as magical crystals and ingredients of various elements.
The sixth group had the fresh and bloody leg of a Minotaur, a powerful monster.
And the seventh sample group made Tharick question Zefaris's sanity even more. He pced steaming human shit there, fresh on a pte.
"...Master, you don't expect me to eat shit, right?" Tharick pleadingly looked at his mentally ill master.
Evile was trying not to gag at the thought of her best frieing shit.
"Nonsense! I am not ied in seeing someo feces! That's crazy!" The madman said.
Tharid Evile stared at him and said nothing.
Ign their looks, Zefaris tinued.
"Abberanthins often live in sewers and are known to eat everything, including engaging in coprophagia. Since you are now a Tentacle Monster, a species reted to Abberanthins, I want to test if you have the same pate by smelling it. With that said, even Abberanthins prefer fresh food over sewage sihey derive more food energy." Zefaris stated.
Tharid Evile sighed in relief. While unpleasant, smelling shit was miles better thaing it!
"Now, I want you to smell each food and rate your desire for each," Zefaris instructed.
"Yes, Master," Tharick replied.
He started smelling the processed food, which smelled just as good as before, or maybe eveer. He gave it an 8 out of 10.
The unprocessed food, cattle fodder, and poisonous food all smelled edible and tasty, but not as much as the cooked food. He gave it 7 out of 10.
However, the magical materials and min smelled so good that he could barely trol himself from eating them. He gave them 9-10, with the min a solid 10! He never smelled something so good before. He instinctively k was good for his body.
As for the shit- it smelled less bad than he expected, but it did smell mildly bad, like stinky cheese or some other fermented food. However, he instinctively knew he could eat it, but only if necessary. Hence, instead of 1, he relutly gave it 3-4 points.
In summary, he erfenivore who could eat everything, with preferences for cooked food and magically rigredients. He could likely also survive in a sewer, albeit relutly.
"An iing but somewhat expected result," Zefaris muttered as he fiaking notes and poi the Min. "Eat."
Tharick hesitated for a moment. It was a hairy monster's leg, having twice the meat than a human leg. Just because it smelled good didn't mean he lost his human rationality.
"What are you hesitating for, boy? I order you to eat, so EAT! Or do you want to eat the shit?!" Zefris snapped with impatience.
"I'll eat, I'll it the leg!" Tharick panickedly replied and approached the leg.
And theook a bite.
Tharick's mind blurred from that moment, as his instincts took hold.
Oe turo two, two to four, four to ten, and a hundred.
Skin, Fur, Blood, Flesh, and Tendones—Nothing ared.
He only saw a bare leg boh gnawing marks when he regained crity. Even the blood was licked , and he felt bloated and sleepy.
However, he knew ohing for certainty.
"I am no longer a human."
"Lad? Have yained your marbles?" Zefaris asked from behind, but Tharick could barely register it.
"So full... Sleepy. Zzz*" And just like that, Tharick went into hibernation.
Evile, pale from watg Tharick's dispy, shed two tears, knowing her best friend and love i was no longer human, mind and body.
"Girl you are now in charge of feeding him as well," Zefaris said with an apathetic voice.
"Yes, Master..." Evile numbly answered.
