I waked up a little nervous, I didn’t know what I was going to say to my team, I dressed myself with my usual clothes, checked the hour to assure that I wasn’t late, but for some reason I decided to stay a little bit more than normal in my department, watching the sky full of stars and giant spaceships, after a moment of profound reflection I got out of my department, I took the elevator, got on my car, and driven to work, after passing by security inspectors, and arrived to the workshop, the place where we make progress on the project, and after thinking for a moment, Regina and Tobias appeared, reaching for my shoulder, then I heard from them:

• Tobias: To be honest I didn’t know what to think about the project when we started, but at the end I saw how revolutionary this is, and how this will be the work of our lives, then why not make it more efficient and leave a mark in history.

  We started the next day with diagnostic of all of the problems the portal had, and we found the main obstacle, the energy use of the portal, but thanks to a rumor inside the building we discovered about a scientist in other department that managed to create an energy generator using antimatter as fuel, I believed that this would help us cut down on the time of development, so I approached Richard commenting on the rumor, telling him that if we combined the 2 projects together we could make portals frames more mobiles, with no attachments to the electric network, he said he would think about it and talk it with the lead scientist on the other project to see if it was compatible.

  After a week or two Richard told me that the 2 projects were compatible, also telling me that the team in charge of the antimatter generator project would come tomorrow, that day came just like a wave in a smooth beach, they came to our workshop with their prototype, explaining to us how it works and the restrictions it has, that same day Regina Tobias and Jimmy approached me telling me that they had a new design for a more compact version that has the generator implemented and make the portal more stable than before.

  After 4 months we had already optimized and finished implementing the new energy generator, it was ready for a presentation all of the team was nervous, including me, we didn’t know how it was going to be revealed to the world, if it was going to be an announcement or a live demonstration, at the end Richard told us it was going to be a live demonstration after all, it was going to be my first time under the public’s interest, ever since I started working for Evergreen.

  It was made at a Friday, at like 5:00 pm if I remember well, getting employees from other departments and also some reporters from some news channels, Julian gave the honor and made the presentation, first it was with a moving objet, then an apple and later he passed by the portal himself, everyone was left astonished on how it was, they had a million question on how it works, after that Julian said to wait for a moment and told that the team where going to respond any questions, we moved to the scenario, confidently responded one by one besides my team, after about 10 minutes that felt like an eternity they told us we were moving to a conference room for responding any remaining questions.

  After 2 intense hours of questioning, we finished responding many of the questions, I finally gave an end to the presentation, then I went home, there wasn’t much people on the road so I arrived pretty quickly, I was so exhausted that I just dropped dead in my bead, waiting for tomorrow to come.

  At the next day I waked up and followed my routine, but before leaving I saw a bunch of tents outside the apartment entrance and people with cameras trying to get a photo with me, probably to sell it to the biggest bidder, so I decided to use the back alley exit, when I arrived to the building it was also filled to the brim with paparazzi, luckily the guards in front of the building kept them out and helped me getting inside the building, I passed to my office, with nothing more to do I received a call from Richard, telling me that they are have already received many orders from very powerful corporations and people trying to get their hands on this powerful technology, then with dead-serious tone:

  

  
• We have a miracle, this may not only be the way for us making the corporation the top in transport on the earth, but on the whole universe, if we optimize the portal even more and we discovered a way of getting it into the space, we could get a trillion dollar opportunity, we would get transport faster than light speed, we could have control over the whole space, no-one, absolutely no-one will be able to stop us.


  

  Then I realized my destiny was sealed, not like the one who invented tele_transporting with the help of my team, but as a slave of the people that are just capable of seeing numbers, and their language are expansion and money, they have consolidated as an absolute company, as if they were a force of nature nobody was able to stop.
