The Mountain has stood in the wasteland for as long as anyone can remember. Many come to stare and wonder, many leave. Rumours abound as to what is at the summit, always hidden in clouds. A group of desperate young people begin the climb, all carrying their own burdens and reasons for trying one last time to change their lives. The disgraced daughter of a warlord, a soldier who fled from his duty, a runaway bride, and an orphaned peasant are thrown together by either fate or providence, and must navigate the treacherous slopes and vicious attacks of enemies both mortal and supernatural as they press on towards the summit of The Mountain.
