The engineer doesn’t want to waste their time, or they are scared because they are in a nation of monsters, either way, they are pretty helpful around here. Some of them start to get comfortable here. But there is one more issue that Hana and I have to solve. That issue is King Wieka. I don’t know when he will strike but the bluff about the 2 of us being dead will be broken. Maybe he will change his mind about monsters, but I doubt he will, after all the trouble we caused there, the chances are slim. We still have his daughter over at Fumiko, I don’t remember what happened to her. Anyway, we need to focus on the tasks at hand now.

  Today, the engineers and I are trying to build a mana-operated stove, kinda like the ones back in Japan, but with Mana instead of Gas or Electricity. It would be too farfetched to think electricity will be a thing since you can already make it with magic around these parts. “Hey, Hikaru, mind if you help me with something?”- This is Malika, one of the engineers, she is short and can’t reach high pces, she seems to be a mix of elf and dwarf.

  I walked over to where she was. I only help do the heavy lifting around here, I am not that much on the technical side of things with Mana cores and receptors, I bet Sia can expin all of this to me in a few minutes but I am too zy to memorize everything

  !Stop being zy then and memorize what I have to say to you, Hikaru!!- Sia yelled at me, she sounded upset about this.

  Yeah, maybe I should start doing that. Sia is right. I can’t be zy forever, I think it’s time that I start to learn to do something.

  I got closer to the engineers seeing what they were working on.

  “Can I help with something other than heavy lifting?”- I reached with my shadow tendrils for something Malikpointedng high above on a shelf. We made a workshop for the engineers on the days that they rested here.

  Everythinwe didne to help the monster nation hapaided off somehow. I don’t know if this thing will be worth it in the end but for now, it seems like so.

  “Yes, if you want to help with technical stuff you can help by pumping your mana into mana cores. That’s the most you can do. We had to fill these mana cores with our mana over a long period. I heard monsters have a lot more mana than us humans so I want to see if it’s true. I want to see how drained you are after filling up 1 mana core”- Malika handed me 1 empty mana core for me to fill up.

  I pumped as much mana as the mana core could hold. It seems like it didn’t take much out of my mana reserves. It took less than expected, a lot less.

  “That was fast. I have 100 of these here. If you would be so kind as to fill them up for me, I will be grateful.”- I began to fill up the mana cores with as much mana as I could. Some of them have almost started to crack.

  “Be careful not to crack them”

  It took me around 10 minutes to fill all of them up. I opted to fill all of them at once instead of 1 by 1.

  “That was too fast. And all of them are filled up. Well, good job. I hope you have mana left”- Malika and I shook hands. I exited the workshop and met up with Hana.

  “Hikaru, can you hear us?”- I can hear Fumiko on the other side.

  “Yea, what happened Fumiko?”- She didn’t contact us until now, but I bet it’s bad news.

  “Well, a lot. King Welcia now knows about you 2 being alive. He doesn’t know that you are my guards or whatever position I have given you 2. Look, I will send Ayame there. I will visit the Monster Nation with her. She will stay there and lead the monsters.”- This sounds like bad news for us. I don’t know howe canwe deal with something like this.

  “Ok. We will wait for you here. We managed to get the monsters from Admaris here as well. I made sure to tell them to keep the fact that we are demon lord sprouting holders under wraps until Ayame is here”

  “It’s ok Hikaru. Thanks for listening to me. It wouldn’t be too much trouble if you would have told them by now since you did so much for them. They will be more than pleased to welcome you 2 as sprouting holders”

  “Ok. I will tell them that when Ayame is here.”

  “Take care, Hikaru, we will see you there”

  The telepathic chat that I had with Fumiko ended.

  “Hana, did you hear the chat?”- I tried to contact Hana over the telepathic network.

  “Yes, I did hear that. I am already making preparations for it. You just help the engineers with the heavy lifting that’s needed, charge mana cores, and everything that is needed. I am doing my part here on the management team. You should get going”

  “Ok, got it!”- I ended the telepathic chat.

  I went back to Malika’s workshop and spent some time with her. She is making me power different mana devices. She tested some medicine that humans take for different illnesses in this world on me. I took them all, some gave less than beneficial effects. Somehow some pills make demons vomit or make them nauseous. I was a guinea pig for her experiments for hours.

  After 4 hours Hana barged in and saw that Malika was feeding me something.

  “Ohhh, so she is the crazy doctor girl”- Hana sighed and pulled away from her, she grabbed me from where Malika was keeping me. At that point I didn’t try to resist, everyone else was so busy that helping Malika was the only choice.

  “Thanks”- I managed to say before falling unconscious
